The essential feature for me (which is missing from Apple's own iWork apps) is the ability to add comments and track changes. I can't take my work on the iPad without it.

This is a great way to differentiate, because no word processor for iPad -- including Pages -- has this capability.
Agree with the others here. Track Changes is absolutely essential for me on my iPad (for my work), perhaps less so with my iPhone since it is so small.
Huge thumbs up for me on this idea. The sooner the better. Will increase my iPad productivity by a big factor.
For many "text editor" professionals, the lack of an iPad app that implements the Track Changes feature in Word is the primary impediment to use of the iPad as a productivity tool. The flip side is a sizable market opportunity for QuickOffice or one of its competitors. I assume it's a hard feature to implement, because it's a requirement for any text editing app to be useful for lawyers like me.
This is the one thing that is the most important to me. Without seeing and adding track change I just can not buy this. This would be the best!!
track changes including the option to add comments/notes/annotations is crucial and none of the other apps (iwork etc.) has this and this would make it REALLY standout and USEFUL, to be able to REVIEW on the go and to instantly email it again... perfect task for the iPad.
This is VITAL and nobody else is doing it.
I agree with all these comments, particularly in re full track changes being an essential feature for lawyers and other professionals who work with multiple drafts of complex documents on the go. BIG market there!
As far as I know, no app for iPad has this feature. As an academic writer, I can't do without it!
Fully agree: REALLY need the ability to review/track changes.
I agree with the need for track changes. it was the first thing i looked for and the first disappointment I had with the product. Can you let us know whether this is being developed, and if so, timing?
I agree with all of the comments here thus far. I am a lawyer and would use (and recommend) Quickoffice on the iPad a lot more frequently if Word-compatible "track changes" were available.
I'm a journalist and being able to deal with tracked changes would make my iPad a lot more useful for work because my projects involve tons of changes sent back and forth.
As an editor and writer, being able to track copy changes is essential, not just being able to make changes. Being able to track changes on my iPad would be absolutely wonderful. I notice quite a few od your customers -- or would be customers -- have been requesting development of such a program form some time now, apparently with no success, so far. If there would be extra cost to include such capability, I know I would be willing to pay for it. And it would make the iPad more productive, highly portable and convenient. Please do what you can as soon as you can.
As an INITIAL step, it would be very helpful if the app could just display the formatting from word for insertions and deletions (ie, underlined in color for insertions and strikethrough in color for deletions). Then we could at least SEE marked changes in .doc and .docx files that we receive.
The ideal solution would be the ability to BOTH see these elements in .doc and .docx files that we import AND add our own revisions that are marked in the same way.
Without this feature, this app and the iPad will NEVER be a real solution for many professionals.
Please let me know when revision history is implemented.
I am an editor and a writer who collaborates substantially with multiple experts and authors, and other staffers.
I would really look forward to visual tracking of changes and popup options to approve/reject.
This is essential for me as an academic and author. If your app had this, I would buy it IMMEDIATELY (in fact, I would have already bought it). The first app that implements this feature on the iPad will get my business - and keep it as long as the products are good. I'll say bye bye to Pages and never look back.
As another commenter pointed out, the iPad is useless for serious work without this one feature. In fact, if your suite had it, I would be willing to pay twice the price you're now asking. (Though I'll be happier if you keep the price the same).
absolutely. I am a lecturer and the ability to mark/grade student essays on my iPad and then return them to students with my comments visible as tracked changes would make life a lot easier. An absolute must-have feature.
When are you going to add support for track changes and comments to this app?
These are absolutely essential features that I thought the app had when I purchased it and am now finding it much less useful for my work. Please considering implementing track changes and notes in an update.
I have used the font color option for putting notes and comments into my students' papers, but being able to use a comment feature would be much more professional. i agree with others that additional editing features such as finger highlighting and additional font faces would also be helpful.
Track changes are an absolute must... It will differentiate Quickoffice, putting it head and shoulders above the other document software. If the ipad and quickoffice is to make serious inroads into corporate dominion, commonly used features such as this are necessary.
This would be the "killer" feature that allows Quickoffice to own so much of the business professional marketplace.
This is the single most important feature needed to make this the COOLEST and BEST (and only) such pogram for the iPad. It is essential for my work. PLEASE get this working!
this would be an awesome addition to the iPad and would definitely set the app apart.
I concur - having this feature is key to my use of this product. Even if you could just allow me to properly view a document that has been "marked up" using track changes, that would be a huge help!
Once this feature is implemented I will first buy an ipad, then this app. Without it the ipad would be a toy. With it, I could get half my day's work done on the train in.
I agree with the previous commenters that this feature would finally let me use my iPad in my work. Just being able to view tracked changes and comments would be sufficient.
track changes will be very useful when i have the ability to add photos to word/excel docs, even viewing changes would be good
This feature is a must for business use. We will wait for this before committing to the purchase.
I'm a student and my professors often receive my papers digitally, then email them back to me with comments/notes. Unfortunately, I can't see these comments on my iPad. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to track changes and view comments through Quickoffice.
This is very important to me. Whichever app implements this first will get my business.
This is an essential featur and we are waiting for it!
Again, this is essential for most people where multiple members of a team review documents. These features are necessary to truly allow full functionality within the app.
without it i can't get rid of my notebook while travelling.
An essential for attorney's everywhere...
I am in support for this enhancement. I would like to see this feature in QuickOffice for iPad. It would be very helpful.
This is absolutely necessary. As a scientist it is critical for me to use track changes to edit papers from colleagues and students. This would set quickoffice apart from all others.
This would absolutely make the application for me. I wouldn't need anything else.
I'm begging. Seriously. I won't buy an Ipad if there's no way to write effectively - and I need this feature to work with editors. If you add this feature you will OWN the market, so please!
Being able to open up documents and read tracked changes from others and then track my own changes is critical to my work.
Track changes is an absolute necessity for me. If Quick Office is the first to implement it I will buy it without any hesitation.
I grade hundreds of undergrad student essays every year and tracked changes is a great tool for this purpose. I would like it to be on iPad since this is the most friendly tablet, widely used by students.
I concur. This is absolutely an essential feature which would replace the need for a laptop. I have long been frustrated by the iPhone's inability to even see already tracked changes much less track changes. This is essential to make a fully functional program. Thank you.
This is an absolutely vital addition to Quick Office. It would go a long way to getting the iPad into the #1 spot as a replacement for the desktop or laptop.
track chantes support is absolutely necessary
Also in holland we look forward to Track Changes.
I agree with the others. The use of Track changes is the main way that I recieve review comments of my academic work.
...and just so it's not lost in the melee of excitement, editable comments iare an essential part of managing tracked changes for my work with lawyers and engineers. Bless 'em all
Yes, as I am an editor, I will be able to use your software as soon as you implement a track-changes feature.
please add a feature to bea ble to read Tracked changes on the IPad.
Would be great if we could review documents received that have been redlined.
MUST HAVE!! IPAD ISN'T VALUABLE WITH OUT IT.
For my collaborative work track changes and commets would make this a killer application for the iPad and set a standard for smal portable devices.
model this after the commenting in pages on laptops
I totally agree without this feature the iPad is just a glorified iPhone without the ability to make calls...I can do all the things that the iPad offers on my iPhone and iPod touch...tablet makers including surprisingly Apple hav essentially aimed the tablets at the almost teenage market and only expect people to listen to music, browse the web etc...no real thought has gone into supporting serious business use...a 12" Netbook is a better bet...ok it is heavier but does do the main tasks that business users and students/academics have been asking for...
Not being able to see the amendments especially from my supervisors comments is one of the main reasons I still hump my laptop around with me.
This must be difficult to do because people have been begging for this feature for a while. But yes, it would be quite the "slam dunk" since no one else seems to have this.
I could ditch my laptop for an ipad if this was available... I only use the lappy to review docs (ie not create) and track changes is a key part of this so I can comment and accept / refuse others' changes and they can see mine...
Tracking changes and inserting comments in text is the only reason I pack along my laptop instead of taking the easier to use iPad. This feature would make QuickOffice a killer app for me.
Yes, this is a key feature for continuing QuickOffice use. When can we expect it? Thanks!
This is essential for using an ipad as a business item.
Happy to see this is up to #4. Haven't visited in a while. Really want this feature. Track Changes in Word is just about the only reason I need a laptop. With this feature I just might not need one.
This is the main reason I want/need Quickoffice. Please allow Track Changes!!
I am a proofreader and I need to be able to edit MS Word documents. I do not need advanced formatting features, but support for track changes and adding/editing comments is essential. I would buy this app if it had these features.
I totally support the others. This s an important feature for me and it would prompt me o purchase
This feature is paramount for a full Quickoffice functionality.
This is a key feature without which I cannot move my work from the laptop to the iPad. It's the one feature that's keeping me from buying this product. I'm disappointed to see this feature has not been added after people brought it up over a year ago!
The fact that no tablet word processor has track changes boggles my mind. As a writer and editor it is absolutely vital to my work flow and the one thing keeping me from regularly using my tablet for productivity purposes. Adding track changes to QuickOffice would make the best tablet word processor even better.
Track changes is absolutely essential if an iPad is to become an everyday tool for lawyers. Many of us like the iPad and an accessory, but to make it the go to device, it has to be able to track changes in tru redlining fashion.
Track changes and comments are essential to be able to use Word in the capacity that I need to.
and that will make it useful to carry it everywhere. add also the ability to create new documents
As a researcher Track Changes is absolutely essential...The app is of little or no use to me without it!
Track changes (& comments) would be extremely useful and would be a major differentiator for Quickoffice in the Office app space.
I too rely on track changes and it's often the only reason I have to travel with my computer. Docs to go had this feature but removed it from their recent upgrade. I would definitely buy quick Office for my iPad if this feature was added.
All of the MS Word reviewing functions, particularly track changes and commenting, are essential to using the iPad as anything other than a browser or eBook reader. Please develop and release support for these functions!
You have to give this app the ability to redline and track changes. In addition, a toolbar at the top rather than a drop down would be great.
Nothing redlines on my iPad, figure it our and you will rule the world.....!
I agree whole heartedly that the ability to comment, highlight and track (and approve) changes is key functionality for using Word (primarily) as a business tool. It would be nice to have them in pptx and excel but word is the primary need (at least for me).
Yes - redlining and track changes would be a great addition!
This is the killer for us that all of our execs ask for - we can't get rid of laptops without it...
Be excellent to be able to review/track changes on a document as this is an ideal app for open office
